However, starting August 20, , when users with A1 including A1 Plus licenses start a Teams meeting recording, this behavior changes. These users and the other meeting participants will see something like the image below in the Teams channel or meeting chat shortly after a meeting ends.

Meeting recordings will be available in the meeting chat for a period of 21 days after the meeting. After 21 days, the meeting recordings will no longer be available for download from the chat. Meetings recorded before August 20, , will not be affected by this change.

To play back the meeting recording, meeting participants can download the file and play it back on their local device. To share or archive a recording, meeting participants can download the file and then upload it to Teams, Stream, SharePoint, or OneDrive instructions below.

Important: As of early , Teams meeting recordings are no longer saved to Microsoft Stream. All meeting recordings are now saved to OneDrive and SharePoint.

Note: Mobile users should update to the latest version of the Teams app for iOS and Android in order to experience meeting recording and video playback in Teams. Play a meeting recording. Go here for further details. For channel meetings, the recording will be stored in a Recordings folder in the Files tab for the channel.

The Files tab stores all files in a SharePoint site and document library for the channel. Everyone who is a part of the channel will have permission to edit and view the recording. For non-channel meetings, the recording will be stored in the Recordings folder in the OneDrive directory of the person who started the recording. Note: Only the organizer of the meeting and the person who started the recording will be able to edit the recording. But everyone invited to the meeting will be able to view the recording.

If you recorded or organized the meeting, you can share the recording with people who weren’t invited to the meeting—by just sharing it like you would share any other file. Just find the file in OneDrive or SharePoint and share it directly with people or copy a link and share it however you like. If you weren’t the person who recorded or organized the meeting, you can still share the recording with people weren’t invited to the meeting. However, the meeting organizer or the the meeting recorder will need to approve your share action before other people will get access.
